Joseph P. Arena, Ph.D.

Dr. Joseph Arena, a native of Jersey City, New Jersey, received his Ph.D. in pharmacology in 1986.  In 1989, following his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester, Department of Physiology, he joined Merck Research Laboratories as a Senior Research Biologist.  Currently, he serves as Director, Regulatory Affairs, International for Merck Research Laboratories in West Point, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Arena has published widely, especially from industry.  He has mentored one Ph.D. candidate in the pharmacology department, and has been a member of several thesis and examination committees.
